Venus Love-me Chain!!!

ESSENTIAL TO ANY SAILOR VENUS FAN

This is the fifth and final one of five reference books published to tie-in with the premiere of Sailor Moon TV show in the US television.

I thought (and commented it in the previous books of this collection) that I waited like a year to get this final book, but now that I checked it out again the original date of reading (that I won't say it's deadly accurate but pretty much close) it's clear that I waited even more time, like 4 years to complete the collection. I remember how sad was that having all the other 4 and still lacking of the final book, and while English written American published books about Anime series isn't so hard to find like the original Japanese ones, boy! As you can see, it wasn't easy to get it, even harder taking in account that I was (and still am) client then of a specialized Anime & Manga store, where the owner made travels to US and Asia many times to get stuff for the store and even so, it was a 4-year waiting to get this final book.

BUT I GOT IT!!! YEY!!!

Well, now the review of this book...

Each book of this series of five, is focused in one of the Sailor Scouts, where here is obvious that it's about the fifth sailor to be called (or we should say that she was the first even before than Sailor Moon? Mmh), Sailor Venus aka Mina Aino (Minako in the Japanese version), also known as Sailor V.

Mina was kinda the first sailor scout, since Naoko Takeuchi did an earlier Manga named Sailor V where Mina was the main character, but that first series wasn't as successful as Naoko wanted so she did an overhaul of the concept (like Joss Whedon did with his Buffy, the Vampire Slayer from the dynamics in the original theatrical movie to the most known and popular TV series), so Naoko came up with Sailor Moon, but she didn't forget sweet Mina and she added her to the new Manga (and later Anime) series.

Even Naoko Takeuchi established that Mina was already a super-heroine known worldwide way before that Serena would become Sailor Moon, and even there was an arcade video game based on Sailor V inside the new series.

Only Mina, due her previous status of a first attempt for a Manga (and Anime) series, she is the only besides Serena that she possess a talking cat guide too. Serena has Luna, while Mina has Artemis.

Mina is therefore the most experienced of the sailor scouts, since she was already battling alone against the forces of evil when the rest of the sailors were still normal teenager girls. She is brave, mature and the most reliable of the sailor scouts in a dangerous situation.

This reference book is a wonderful collector's item, since not only you're able to read it all since it's on English, but also is full color in prestige paper and with a massive amount of information focused on Sailor Venus, like her previous adventures as "Sailor V", her cat Artemis, her romantic relationships, her lovely powers, etc...

Obviously, if you're fan of the Sailor Moon anime series, I recommend to get all the five books.
